Thank you all for the heartfelt condolence emails, letters, cards, and phone calls I’ve received since Christine’s passing. Seeing and talking to many of you in my weekly classes has been a great blessing. I deeply appreciate your comforting thoughts and remembrances of Christine. -MGK
Christine’s daughter Alyssa wrote this lovely tribute to Christine, and I would like to share it with all of you:
“This week my heart shattered. We had to say goodbye to a woman who was courageous, fierce, selfless, kindhearted, and carefree. A woman who lived every day as if it were her last. She cared so deeply for those around her. She put everyone else before herself because seeing other people smile made her happy.
Her love for life was contagious. And how lucky was I to call her my mom, my best friend, the light of my life? The only person who had no choice but to love me unconditionally. I worry that nothing can fill the hole that this has left in my heart but I’m comforted knowing you are at peace and no longer in pain. And now I have one hell of an angel guiding me through life.
Life will not be as loud and crazy without you. I promise to live the rest of my life in your footsteps, reflecting your strength, your optimism, your kindness. I hope I continue to make you proud.
Due to the craziness of the world, we, unfortunately, were not able to have a formal funeral. Everyone who knew my mom would know there would be a line out the door and miles long. We plan on having a memorial and celebration of life for her when the world is in a better place.”
